OWN YOUR PATH, OR ALLOW OTHER PEOPLE PLACES AND THINGS TO OWN YOU.
At first sight, this might seem like a death threat or a curse, but I want you to recognise the empowering perspective: It primarily says that You can own, I am not necessarily talking about positions, cars houses and other physical labels and categories of this world. Owning who you are and being proud of it is where real ownership starts, and herein flows authentic power, the real key to everything.
Authentic power allows you to take decisions that are aligned to who you are much quicker and in a clearer way.
I recently came across this post on LinkedIn and it was so inspiring. It is not the pursuit of a degree for me. It's about the spirit & energy behind the action. The post reads of someone who wasn't afraid to begin again. She may be successful & abundant in the other areas of her life, however the fire of her soul just could not settle without completing this next step. Be proud of your life and own every piece of it. Ownership is freedom. You are yours, own your bull shit and really step up and do the work. I know it’s difficult, however, indescribably rewarding.
Like me, if you’re not owning in every aspect of your life, yet definitely acquiring ownership in every way you can see, keep going because life is a constant process of owning! OWN! When you rearrange the letters they say WON!
Here are ways in which you can start to own, truly:
ABOVE ALL ELSE, DESIRE TO SEE.
The unseen things have much more tremendous power over our lives, especially when you don’t see it. Start your self-awareness journey intentionally today. Step 1? Start by having this as a mantra: “Above all else I want to see”. Repeat frequently until the next step unfolds. It will unfold, you will not think of it. It will come to you, this is elevated & conscious thinking, which I like to call insight.
CHOOSE HOW YOU WANT TO SEE & CHOOSE YOUR THOUGHTS.
A beautiful lesson from A Course In Miracles says that we have given meaning to everything we see, and if you really apply your mind and senses, you will realise that this is true. For example, while a chair has been labelled a chair, with a specific seating use attached to it, it does still have many other uses. How we have categorised it has limited the chair, and also in turn limited ourselves. While in fact it can be uses for so many more things. How and what you see will determine usefulness & functionality in life. So the question is: How do you choose to see your past? Your failed relationships? The relationship with your kids, spouse or parents? The choice truly is yours, and it creates and defines your world, because this is what you will see, a confirmation of your thought patterns & therefore this is what you will be creating. Everything you think has power, think about that. And then look at your world and see what you have created.
TAKE THE NEXT STEP.
Very often, once we have seen what we need to, we encounter: RESISTANCE. Resistance comes in the form of procrastination, laziness, sometimes it comes to blaming environment and some of the reasoning sounds pretty darn clever & absolutely reasonable... We even tend to create "all-new" stories to keep us in the grip of our own world view that we have tried to preserve because it kept us surviving & preserved us to an extend. And I understand. But it is time to Thrive now! The reason why is because for so long you have practiced a certain world view, and now you realise that it is unserving and possibly incorrect, and even further, never existed to begin with. Now, you need to let go. And this is difficult because the former (old) world view is all you know, but now that you know better, better is expected, and the old practise is just not the same anymore, no matter how hard you try to hang onto it. As you attempt to adopt the new view, the old one will be really loud, disturbing and unpleasant and try to drag you back into the hell which was formerly your heaven, but there is nothing heavenly about a limited mind. The best thing you can do is to take the next step. You know the step. Take it.
RE-EVALUATE THE MATERIAL THINGS.
MATERIAL POSSESSIONS ARE BEAUTIFUL TOO, AND BECOME MORE MEANINGFUL WHEN YOU OWN YOUR LIFE & THEY ARE MORE USEFUL BECAUSE YOU HAVE PURPOSE.
When you own materially without doing the inner work, you could say it's as good as building up a scrap yard (if there is no purpose). Don’t let material aspects of life own you. Are you doing something purposeful with material things? Are you (sincerely) grateful for each resource you have? Do you show it love and appreciation? Do you share it? If you answered no to any of these questions, you need to do an inventory of your life first, before trying to get rid of material things, because in trying to get rid of material things to feel good & less guilty about yourself is as productive as trying to acquire things to feel good about yourself. ALL the work starts on the inside. So if you have a Bentley, beautiful & let's go for a ride! Do the work on yourself, it is most important and most permanent. If you don't have a Bentley, thinking the Bentley will complete is the incorrect use of your mind. Sure, get the Bentley if you really must, but you will circle back to the inner work that is required for true success in life, which is: Loving life & being content and grateful for who you are, and doing it all purposefully.
All the best,
