Through focus groups and interviews we are able to obtain qualitative information & insights that support and build onto existing statistics, and at other times, pointing to other aspects that can be explored to strengthen the body of information. The research process can also be used to define a problem better, which lends to clarifying a desire, and therefore the type of data that needs to be captured. The research empowers the process of defining clear principles that will direct strategic and tactical decisions.
